FOR ANYONE WHO THINKS MAKING FUN OF PEOPLE WITH ADDICTIONS IS FUNNY!
Buford is my Olde English Bulldogge and he's got a very keen nose for Bullsh@t!!! Sooo this is his weekly rant on a matter he sniffed out as total bullsh@t!!!
With the epidemic our country and many parts of the world is currently facing in regards to addictions and overdoses, I felt this would be an important topic to speak about. The fact that I even need to say these things, really shows how non-empathetic and mean people have become in our society today.
People need to realize that not a single person ever stood up in grade school and said they want to be an addict or alcoholic. Everyone had the same dreams of being a doctor, astronaut, police officer, fire fighter, nurse, ect. Somewhere along their path in life, stuff happened and usually that stuff was traumatic. These things caused a change in direction of those dreams they had as a young child and they found an escape or comfort in drugs and alcohol. This isn't the solution to a person's problems and it isn't an excuse either. What it is, is simply a person trying to do the best with what they have or know and alot of people grow up around these substances, so this maybe all they know. There are many forms of addiction in life and at some point we are all addicted to something or even someone. I have never been addicted to drugs or alcohol. I have however, been addicted to fitness, my personal image, my financial status, work, money, materialistic things and relationships. So before anyone judges a person, open your own lifes closet door and see what kind of skeletons come running out. For some clarity on what I'm talking about, below here is a page from my healing journal, that I'm having published this summer. It is a Feather Teaching a Cree Elder out in Northern Alberta taught me, about how a person's spirit can get stuck. This is a reason as well for a person to turn to addictive behaviours. This was one of the most eye opening teachings I'd ever had the pleasure of being shown from an Elder. It really puts alot of stuff into a better perspective for everyone.
When I shared all of this with Buford, he gave me the look that he's giving all you in the picture for this weekly rant. This is the look he gives when he smells Bullsh@t. So my friends Buford calls "Making fun of people with addictions," total Bullsh@t!!!
